benefits of Active Release technique

Active Release Technique (ART) is a unique massage technique that treats many problems including muscles, tendons, and nerves. ART treatment focuses on applying gentle pressure to soft tissues and overused muscles that are triggering pain to the patient. ART offers a natural way to free muscles and soft tissues from scar tissue.

Dr. Brett Barringer is a Certified ART provider and he helps patients who experience headaches, sciatica pain, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel, and endless other conditions.

Who Can Benefit from Active Release Technique?

If you suffer from ongoing stiffness and discomfort, you may be experiencing pain from tissue damage. Tiny tears in soft tissue or other injuries from activities can cause chronic pain. An anti-inflamitory drug may subside the pain, but the damage to the tissue will remain as well as long-term discomfort.

Many conditions can be resolved quickly and many times permanently with ART. These conditions have an important thing in common; they are often a result of overused muscles. Athletes have found relief from sore or stiff muscles from using ART. Other conditions include:

Sciatica

Carpal Tunnel

Plantar Fasciitis

Back Pain

Headaches

Tennis Elbow

ART is a great option for athletes who have pain and discomfort from training and overusing their muscles. Manage your injuries while still being active today by contacting us here.

I’ve seen Dr. Barringer for several injuries over the last 5 years. The first was a hip injury I developed after an ACL and medial meniscus repair. My gait, post-surgery, was affecting my hip to where it was difficult and painful to stand up after sitting. After months of dealing with hip pain that was worse than my knee pain, I was fed up. Dr. Barringer was able to correctly diagnose my injury as a soft tissue entrapment and was able to fix it within a few visits using Active Release Technique. I’ve been pain-free since! Most recently I fell hiking and injured my shoulder. Six months later I still couldn’t lift a coffee mug off the shelf without pain. Dr. Barringer correctly diagnosed my injury as a rotator cuff strain. With his treatment, stretching, icing, and exercises at home he had me back to working out pain-free within a few weeks. Both Dr. Barringer and his staff are friendly and professional. I have recommended his clinic to friends and they are also pleased with their outcomes.
